Johar declared the creation of Dhadak in November 2017; it denoted the screen presentation of Janhvi Kapoor, the little girl of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Main photography was initiated in December 2017 and was finished in April 2018. The soundtrack was made by Ajay-Atul with verses composed by Amitabh Bhattacharya and a foundation score created by John Stewart Madurai. The film was dispersed globally by Zee Studios.

Dhadak, which was initially planned to discharge on 6 July 2018, was put off and had its overall dramatic discharge on 20 July 2018. It got negative surveys from film faultfinders for gleaming over the subject of rank-based separation, which was available in Sairat, and for being a poor redo of the first, despite the fact that Khatter's execution was lauded. Dhadak rose as a business achievement, earning over ₹109 crore (US$15 million).
